Jane Carson
Thank you for visiting my website. I am a self-taught botanic artist based on the Howth Peninsula in Dublin with my family and two utterly adored dogs. I grew up in Kent, the Garden of England. My parents are both keen gardeners and instilled a love of nature in me from an early age. You will find me gardening when I am not painting, my garden in Dublin providing a wonderful oasis of calm. My paintings tell a story. I was inspired by the novel The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh to have the idea of translating the meaning of a name with the flower, tree or herb that represents that meaning. The creation of something significant is very important to me and I have felt really privileged to have the opportunity to create such unique gifts for people. The paintings are gifts of friendship, creating a timeless memory for the recipient and a beautiful piece of family memorabilia for generations to come. I hope you enjoy looking through examples of my work and I would be delighted to hear from you if you wish to commission your own unique gift for a special moment. I am also available to give presentations on the wonderful history and tradition of the language of flowers.
